My pondering as well. Today they pop vehicles out of cookie cutters in boring shades of grey, silver and white!
I share y’all’s nostalgic view of the automotive landscape of the fifties and even into the 60s. There was some really cool styling in those days. But in reality, the cars produced back then, while stylish and colorful, can’t compare to the safety, comfort, reliability, and service life of autos today. I doubt one could get 365,000 miles out of that Tri-Five Chevy without a couple of engine overhauls. My Impala has achieved that with no engine work required at all.

Personality is great. But I prefer reliability
Great set. The only thing missing is the Suicide Knob which allowed you to steer safely(?) with your left hand, allowing you to put your right arm around your girl. Love those bench seats

I still dream about owning a '57 Chevy. When I was 13 I learned to drive in a '57 Chevy convertible and it's always been my favorite as nothing else ever made looked like them.

Got my drivers license in a 57 Chevy. Baby blue and white. Belonged to my uncle.
Great shot, I had a 55 Merc 2 door HT the same color.
