Great images! Just curious, in the second image, what is in the upper left hand corner (background)?

Not being there I am just guessing, was the road straight after the curve in image 1? Another interesting shot might have been a long dirt road smack dab centered in the frame taken from the ground....... taking the eye on a long trip down the corn row.

You can have a lot of fun with a camera and farm.

Nice..... For your first HDR, cudos for not going overboard. iMHO, my three images have been overprocrssed. The key to HDR is ability to tonemap 3 or 4 additional stops of exposure .......so you capture detail in both highlights and shadows .......and the result appears to be a one shot well exposed image.

What most folks do not realize, the human eye only has 5 stops of dynamic range....but it has the ability to adjust so quickly that it appears to have 20 - from the brightest brights to darkest darks. With this exception, when you move from total dark into light or visa versa....it takes a few minutes for the eye to adjust to the new light but for the most part the eye's ability to see detail from shadows to highlights is at warp speed - in daylight. Now considering the human eye, you have to salute the makers of cameras and lens to be able to replicate the same. Then when you add HDR software, it's spooky what you can capture.

Fun stuff though.

I just discovered that uploads need to be in srgb color space. I just uploaded one and quickly deleted...........it didn't look anything like the original and the color space was ProPhoto RGB. I should have read the rules.....

I tought that I always remember that a Camera has 5 and the human eye had 7 or 9.

I think we all were told that and in truth, the eye's ability to adjust in daylight is so fast, its a moot point. A few years ago, I was corrected when going through the PPA classroom part. They were the instructors and I was the student so I believed them.

Cannot remember where I have seen my statement, But I have read it a couple of times. Maybe itis mass hypnosis. Anyway, my eyes are not as fast as they used t be. The 'sugar' has taken cre of that!!

I am pulling 66 years......it's the focusing that has slowed for me. Not too sure about the adjusting to exposure but guess that has slowed as well.....

I was with Mike Foster (South Carolina Photographer for the Department of Natural Resources) last Tuesday and he made the comment of how his magazine will not allow for HDR images........and he made the statement about the eyes vast dynamic range. You are not the only one.

My guess is we will have a lot of googlers trying to find the answer.

I can understand about the HDR comment. You relly bend the picture to makeit look good. Hell, could even make mine look good if I used it. But then, you can tweek the crap out of a picturein Photoshop and come close.

Digital + Photoshop/Lightroom and all the plug-ins = has done zero to help me improve as a photographer!

I know when I return to the studio, I can take bracketed exposures and mask a decent photo. With 25 megapixel cameras, I can crop for composition. While shooting raw.....most pictures can be resurrected from the dead.

In the film days......I weighted every shot before taking it (excepting sports).

All the shos here, yours and everyone elses are beautful. Mother nature makes a good model. Glad we don't need release forms.

That shot was hdr, but my camera only does it with two pics. I did tone it down a bit, here is another, let me know what you think.Thanks for the good comments. I always welcome C&C.
