Definitely it is the light in the photograph that make this image appealing to my eye. The elephants and trees that others describe are vital too, but it is all about the light! Don't give the focus a second thought; razor-sharp focus doesn't matter in this particular shot!

There is something about this one I really like. It is like the 3 of them are coming together to meet in a special spot.

This has been cropped quite a bit. There was a lot of dust in the air and it was hot. I'm thinking all that combined made the photo not very sharp and in focus. Maybe a bit of me too!

But, I still like it! Just don't pixel peep!

I hope you are very proud of your work here! This and your other recent posts from the same place are nothing short of extraordinary!! I'm going back to Africa and I'm going there!! What time of the year was your visit?

I was there the last 2 weeks of September. Look up Carole https://caroledeschuymere.com. She was one of the pros on the trip. She now lives in Zimbabwe and knows Mana Pools and Zimbabwe very well. She is also an awesome teacher as well as just a very nice person. If you want to go there I would highly recommend her.
Beth
P.S. the fact my photos makes you want to go there is an awesome complement!

Yes, it's lovely - very painterly. Sometimes "not-so-sharp" is just what's needed.

That is a National Geographic shot, maybe even better! If I'd been fortunate enough to make that shot, it would be on my wall in a choice spot.

So much about this photo makes it really special ...I love it! The trees leaning toward one another... glowing light coming through them and the positioning of the elephants... all give it an ethereal, sacred quality.

Fabulous photo, because IMHO, it exudes warmness and harmony. Between the elephants, the lighting and composition of the scene.

I love everything about this one, Beth. The download looks great, and I can see it enlarged, printed on canvas and hung on the wall. You should be proud.

Its fine, don't complain. Sharpness isn't always a virtue, Rembrandt's paintings weren't sharp but his work was outstanding.Your pic conveys an emotion or feeling and is commendable. I wish I had taken it.
