Why should I? Give me a good reason!
I have a Nikon 7100 which I thoroughly enjoy and which gives me the quality of pics I like. Sure I’d like an 850 but being a hobbyist why?
I don't think anybody is telling you what to do. By the same token, nobody is telling you what not to do.
And as long as you don't tell others what to do or not do, everything is good with the world.

No, not here..... They wouldn't do that.

My goodness, how I don’t look forward to these type of postings, since they remind me of the storage closet my wife allocated to me for my camera related stuff. That being 2 excellent, IMHO, DSLRs (one cropped and one FF), and a healthy suite of lenses, and countless accessories including 2 tripods and heads. As I accumulated this stuff, mentally I positively knew I needed every item. On one of those closet shelves, there is a Canon G16, a G1x iii, a G3x, and an IR converted Canon S100. The G16 is my bike take along. The G-series Powershots are currently the work horses and honestly satisfy my needs. There’s nothing like a self assessment reality check to temper GAS attacks, something I never allowed in the mental formula of previous quests.

If an old camera is the only tool you have in your bag of tricks, you need a new bag.
I use a gym bag. Rather than scream "CAMERA", it says "dirty socks".

So what do you do with your dirty socks?

Have an upcoming trip to Egypt in Feb -- so all the primary gear has been cleaned-up, tested & packed.
Will use the backup camera during the holiday's
Ooh, enjoy the trip. We await results.
Just a reminder here, and it has been noted on UHH several times: When you die, hope your wife doesn't sell your cameras and stuff for what you told her you paid for them.

Interesting, I love having my built in flash and get excellent shots using it.
Have you ever used one?
I have.
If the subject is far away from the background, the red-eye is the only problem and that can be corrected in post. If the subject is far away, the flash doesn't have enough power to illuminate it well. Otherwise I use it for a commander on my D800e but none of my other cameras has one.
(My D200 had one but I gave that away about 8 years ago and part of my evaluation of on-camera flashes is based on that body).

I used to buy the so called 'pro' cameras. I had a D1x, D2xs, and D4s. When I started upgrading lenses is when real sticker shock set in. One lens cost more than the three bodies combined. The better lenses made a bigger difference than the bodies.
But since new toys are always fun, while I knew the Z9 was coming, I opted for a Z fc. I can't imagine shooting at the speeds the Z9 is advertising.
My 60fps (stills) camera is set to max burst speed nearly all the time. I don’t shoot sports or bifs. For most of my subjects the “exact best moment” isn’t especially important. My bursts are usually 3 or 4 frames, so I suffer no editing headaches.
The remarks on UHH concerning really fast cameras indicates that UHH users tend to have severely limited problem solving skills.

Last time I said, “It crawled into my hands, HONEST, honey!” I got slapped. I pick and choose my purchases more strategically now.
Ha! My wife doesn’t believe, “It followed me home!” either. Yup, I have to be clever also …

I’m totally happy with my Fuji X-T2 and it’s myriad lenses, and my Fuji X100V (which I use 80+% of the time). I also love the camera in my iPhone 12 Pro Max, and don’t see replacing it anytime soon. I’ve made prints 30 X 45 that have come out beautiful with the X-T2, so no issue there.
The ONLY change I might make next year is to the Fuji X-H2 after it’s out for awhile. If I do, I will probably then change the X-T2 sensor to infrared.
Good with what I have - more then enough.
