Great news, Will. Prayers and thoughts going your way that the results continue along those lines and your goal is reached by Christmas.

BTW, I just, theoretically, finished chemo for the same. Doing fine on this end.

What technology was used?

I don't know about surgery or chemo, but with radiation, a new process was intruduced about 5 years ago that pushes the colon away from the prostate, greatly reducing the chance of radiation damage to the colon.

If planning radiation, make sure to talk to doctor about it.

I had the same situation and treatment. PSA is checked every 6 months, and remains undetectable after 3 years.
Only downside is that I always expected that my end would be at the hands of a jealous husband. I guess that is out!

Thank you. Congratulations to you on being cancer for three years!

You are one of the lucky ones. Good, advice about early checkups.

Thanks, you are right. I read that men should get their PSA checked starting in their 50s.
The earlier it is detected, the better the chances of beating it.

I had a gel pad inserted between the prostate and colon, about a month before radiation treatment. I was put to sleep for this procedure. I guess this is S.O.P. now.
The Dr. said it will dissipate in about 6 months.
