Here is a few fall photos of the milk weed. Taken in color then converted in Iphoto to black and white. Panasonic bridge FZ5 was used on these, an easy carry around. which do you and why ? comments welcome.

No. 1 for me, it's beautiful and the coloring/clarity is perfect.

Color all the way! Beautiful shots.

I like the color in #1, it's almost monochromatic as it is, and the detail in the silk is amazing. Did you notice it looks like someones little dog got captured in the silk in some of the others.

You made me smile thanks!!:):) I am in no way saying I see it too! Starting a little early down there aren't we? :):):)

number 3 looks like a wooly white dog. great shot!
I like all three shots both ways. The first shot needs to be in color to show the silky luxuriousness of the folds of the milkweed. The third shot lends itself best to a B&W treatment.
i like the #2 color, b/w just isnt right for the seeds and fluff

Great shots, all of them.
I like the color full frame #1, but would darken the bright blue sky and darken the corners a little.
I like the B&W #1 but think it should be cropped to a square format around the white fluff.
I like the little mouse in color #3. Darken the sky down a little.
#3 B&W, crop to square format around the mouse.
Of course, this is only MHO. Shoot to please yourself, not anyone else (unless they are paying you). Don't tie yourself to the "rules", bend them or break them.
Hope this helps.

PS--Welcome to the group.

Not a dog, Erv. It looks like Topo Gigio from the Ed Sullivan Show (who?).
