How to set up Canon BR-E1 remote to R6

I got the Canon Remote and I'm trying to get it to connect with my R6. I watched a video and had it connected to the camera but it's not working.
The video I'm watching must have been made to connect to the R5 as it tells you to go to the Red Camera Icon on Page 6 and enable Remote Control. It is one of two choices, Movie self-timer and Remote Control.
My R6 doesn't have Remote Control listed on the red 6 menu. My menu on the R6 lists: Interval time, Bulb timer, Shutter mode, and Release shutter without card.
Can anyone tell me what to do next to get the remote connected.

I had the same problem and ended up getting on line with Canon and it worked. Sorry, but I cannot remember what I did.
