Perhaps you are correct. Frequently "leak" advance promotions are either fake, or just designed to stir up some excitement among the gullible.
Besides, personally I prefer film, just as I prefer analog music storage to digital.
The world of marketing is keenly aware that items they promote have Features, Advantages, and Benefits. The 'features' are what the items are intended to do. The 'advantages' are the things that it has such as being user-friendly and perhaps some things that make it stand out from the competition.
The 'benefits' are the most important aspect of the three for the benefits are always the feelings are of using it and it is more than often that the feelings of using it are what drives a person to buy it.
That is why the marketing team at Nikon used the phrase, "It will ignite your passion" for it instills the sense of the feeling of using the new Nikon Z9.

I doubt there will ever be an upgrade to the D780. If so it would probably be a D790. They already made a D800.
Right, and that's my point. Why have a D700 model (I just realized that Nikon did have a previous D700 model - another example of bad naming) running into a D800 model? They need better names - and that goes for all camera companies.

IF it could really do that it would be worth it at any cost lol

Only for Nikon fanboys.
For everyone else it will be another also ran like the D6, and current crop of Z cameras.
...and you "know" this how? Oh, I'm sure you own and use a few, eh?
Amazing how many non-Nikon owners gravitate to a Nikon thread. For me, the Z9 will be the last camera I buy and I will be able to sell/give away all my DSLR equipment (except for my dedicated IR's) plus a "Z" or two. We'll see, but I'm looking forward to a camera that will perform virtually *everything* I like to shoot. YMMV, of course.

The Z9 is coming. If I had any justification at all, and I could justify the cost, I'd buy one. Unfortunately, I have no need for the world's greatest camera.
Okay, you can start arguing now.
From preliminary reviews, it does look like a great camera.
I jumped too quickly. Red your 1st sentence, “ The Z9 is coming” and looked it up on line. 1st reply was it was a Chinese military helicopter. Glad I went back and read all of your post. 😊

See that? The Chinese steal everything, even names!

with all the talk about the latest camera, people are still in awe of the work of Ansel accomplished.
No we’re not. Never were.
Overhyped silly old fart.

Trolls alway demand documentation for things that are clearly self evident. It’s such a transparent knee jerk reaction to any inconvenient truth.
Gotta have fun once in a while :) Such a dead serious world otherwise LOL

Dare not have one. I do not want my wife ignited in that way!
It will only be the greatest until the Canon R1 is released and then there is the next cycle of trying to out do each other.

And Nikon still have the Z1 name.
