Nikon D700 (have and love dearly)
I'm pretty simple with lenses, if I could only pick 2 I would go with a 50mm 1.4 and an 85mm 1.4, but I shoot portraits mostly.

With no budget......well that changes things..........

I would want the 105 f2.8 macro and the 16mm f2.8 fisheye

Spend no more than $100.00 on a point and shoot , join a camera club and learn how and what photography interests you to the point you'll be capable of making your own informed decisions .

Canon are brilliant, if you don't want to go 2 expensive canon7d are brilliant with a 24-70 L lens and a 70-200 are both very versatile. If money no object go for the best 1D

I don't think the poster is looking for advice on what to purchase. He asked what we would want if budget wasn't an issue.

My choice would be the D800, 24-120, and the hopefully soon to be announced replacement for my 80-400. The current 80-400 is dreadfully slow but great optics.

I'd keep the D800 and the 28-300 that I have. As to the second lens - Gosh, right now I don't know whether I'd want the 16mm fisheye, the 60mm macro or what?

I have been a Canon guy for 40 yrs. currently have 30Dand bought second body; 40D. If I had to choose 2 lenses would be 50mm and a Zoom. Like 50 to 300.

I am new to the group and have found the discussions very informative.

A Canon 5D Mark III and a 28-300 mm zoom lens. That's it. One camera body and one lens.
