He must be quite a character. The horse on the left sure looks like he is leaning. These are wonderful photos.

I agree, these are wonderful images, Wuligal.

I was thinking the same thing about the leaning horses but decided they were moving along a slope to the viewers left and the image was leveled when processed.

Great capture. I love the side view mirrors on the wagon. IMHO the last one is the prize.

IMHO, B&W shown here is excellent for the subject and the story about this man's life on the road.

Ditto - the b&w treatment suits this subject and the story quite well.

Interesting. Is he a real farrier?

Yes, he is a farrier, or at least he said he was.

Very nice work. That first one is a tough one. Should the wagon or the horses be vertical?

I saw Roger Howell driving on a backroad near my home so I did the two most natural things: took a picture and invited him to dinner. He accepted both.
Roger travels in Pennsylvania and Ohio with his dog and life's essentials. He enjoys the gypsy life style and is a treasure trove of adventure stories.
The last photo is the painting on the back of his wagon.

I really don't know. Has to be one of them because a camera can't get stuff half wrong......can it?

Well, the horses and the driver are all leaning to the photograph's right. You might try a version where they are vertical and see how the implied slope of the shoulder of the road looks. It might appear more natural.

I think they are wonderful pictures and I actually didn't notice that they were black and white as they look so natural. Great job!
