Have you tried to compress it into a Zip file? The recipient would then u zip it to original size. Like those bags you can compress clothing in for traveling.

In Windows, right-click the file or folder, go down to “send to” and choose “Compressed (zipped) folder.” This will create a new folder that's smaller than the original. On a Mac, control-click a file (or tap it with two fingers) to bring up the shortcut menu. Choose “Compress” to make a daintier zipped version.

Oh, that’s good information. I tried to zip, but Mac doesn’t have that capability. “Compress”!! Hmm. I’ve solved my problem for now, but I’ll file Compress away for later use. Thank you.

Macs can compress. Control-click or right-click on the file and read the menu. It might be called, “Reduce file size” or something but it’s possible.

Not sure, but I think that Skype may be able to handle that.

I have a PDF, a photo book I created, that I would like to share. The problem I keep running in to is that the file size, 59.9MB is too large for either my email, AOL, or Dropbox to accept. Is there any way that I can break the PDF into smaller pieces?

If my email files are too big my Mac asks if I want to use Mail Drop, good for files up to 50gb. Just say yes and you are good to go. If you are using Windows I would be surprised if it didn’t have something just as simple. There
have been a lot of complicated answers here for something that should be quick and easy.

In your pdf program, go to file save as - there should be an option to save it as a smaller pdf size. I've had to do that a few times when wanting to email a file.

You can try sending via google drive. If you have a google account you should already have a google drive. If not easy to create a google account (gmail account)

Both Foxit and Adobe PDF editing programs features a file size reduction feature. Really effective especially of you have a lot of images in your Pdf

my 2 cents.

Good Morning,
Set up an account on Microsoft OneDrive. Put a copy of your file in there.
It will let you assign a "link" to the file which you can send to whoever you like.
Size is then not an object.
Works great if you want to send several full size pictures or an album as well.
I think other cloud storage systems have a similar capability.

Longshadow is right about OneDrive if you have Microsoft 365 which has a Terrabyte of OneDrive storage for up to each of six family members, or you've purchased more OneDrive storage that the piddly amount that comes with Windows 10. You can set up shared folders with additional Microsoft users at no additional expense and give them permissions to download, upload, and edit shared folder content, if you wish.

OneDrive is much faster than any other sharing plstform I've experienced, such as Google Drive.

I was interested in your dilemma as I've had similar difficulties sending large files/photos. When I looked up a comparison between WeTransfer and Dropbox I was surprised that there was another Dropbox name of Dropbox Transfer which supposedly allows very large files to be sent.
Check out this link https://www.dropbox.com/transfer

Supposedly it can handle up to 250GB sized files. I haven't tried it but intend to, now that I know it exists.

Definitely recommend WeTransfer. It's free up to 2 Gb. No need to split the PDF.

I want to thank everyone who read my post and followed up with a suggestion. I've learned a lot. In the end, what I did was use my gmail account--I'd forgotten that I even have one--and sent the pdf as an attachment using that vehicle.

Again, thank you all for taking the time to help me out.
