Hey Hoggers stilll decideing on a low cost photo editor for simple edits. organizing and sharing. Don't want Lightroom or Photoshop and Google Photos suck. I was happy with Picasa. Looking at ACDSEE looks promising. Anyone have an opinion on it? Thanks
Royce, most cameras come with processing software included, or are free to download from the manufacturer's website. That would probably be your best bet. It's free and tailored to your particular camera.

My primary editor is DPP from Canon. It works well.
(I don't have intense editing requirements either.)
My secondary editors are Elements 2019 and Photo Impact Pro.

FastStone, been using it for years and it's brilliant...and it's free...
I use affinity photo on my iPad, would have used DPP if it had been available for my iPad. Have a new iPad coming, might check DPP on it again
For quick photo editing, I've used Photoshop Express for years. It's easy to use and it works. I also use DPP and a few other applications. There's a whole lot of cheap and free photo editing software out there.

And the manufacturers generally keep their software up to date.

The code was fresh and modern, easy to use, and the updates free... and the price is low.
https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/photo/#buyYou will grow used to the program and you will eventually want to have more advanced editing power. Having used it for Affinity some time it will not require a re-learn when the time comes for advanced editing. Buy for future needs.

Sadly works only on Windows

I've tried a lot of them, found PSP from Corel, stopped looking, been using it for years , does everything, at least every thing I need, buy once, no subscription, I do upgrade every 2 or 3 years but no requirement to upgrade, my choice, get a free trial and see for yourself, relatively easy compared to some others, I do use DPP for RAW conversion as I prefer that program to do the conversion.

Most computers, mine is a Lenovo, has a simple photo editor built in. When I bring up an image on my computer, I can do basic things to it. Your computer should also have this simple software built into it.
Sounds like you only want to do basic things like crop, filter and adjustments.
Under adjustments, I can do light, color, clarity, vignette, red eye, and even spot fix, under filters I have 12 filter options, and under crop and rotate I can also do aspect ratio.
If you need more, then your talking Photoshop or light room.
And, best of all, it is free.
