I live not far from that zoo and did not know that they have all those animals. Will have to take my camera and visit.

I don't carry a tripod unless I know that I'll stay in only one or two places - or, if riding my bike. These were all taken with my Nikon 105mm lens and so, no need for a tripod (or monopod). Typically, you shouldn't need a tripod at a zoo (imho).
