I agree. I don't normally shoot with flash unless I am doing macro.

I have one of their Ring Flashes also.

I have the Godox 685C works great easy to adjust settings and doubles as a 2.4 ghz trigger for other Godox x system flashes. One suggestion get good rechargeable batteries last much longer than alkaline batteries.

I have 2 Yongnuo flashes. Had them a couple years, light use. They have worked fine.

Pixel is another make. I haven't owned one but a couple of speakers we've had at our photography society have recommended them.

Yep, I have same, and except for the names on the cases and the price, I can’t tell any difference - the Yongnuo is an exact clone of the 600-RT at ~1/4 the price In fairness, I don’t subject either to heavy use, so can’t speak to the long term reliability.

Is it possible that Yongnuo makes the Canon flash?
It seems that some accessories for name brand cameras are made externally and just labeled with the name brand with name brand prices.

Sometimes when actual manufacturing or parts are done by third parties they will have a clause in their contract that allows them to make and sell knock offs under another name but they pay a royalty for it. I understand most Chinese companies don't bother, they just clone it and sell it.

The build is different between Canon and Yongnuo but the price difference is a game changer. Do take out batteries in both models as they can seep and corrode the metal contacts.

The Yongnuo manual is a little harder to read but try every setting to feel comfortable using the Yongnuo flashes.
