Thank you everyone who posted to my Costa Rica Post. I went the less expensive route I decided to get a Dslr not a mirrorless camera.
I got the Nikon D500 and the Nikon 200-500mm 5.6 lens
I made this choice because I like the feel of the DSLR better then the Mirrorless I have big hands. I read a lot of good reviews about the D500 for wildlife paired with the 200-500 lens plus I have experienced how well the Nikon D3 worked for me a few years ago.
Yes a Sony A1 would have been nice or a Canon R5 but the cost was not worth it for me after I started to think what my purpose was fun photography. Out of my $10000.00 budget I still have $7500.00 left to buy other thing I may want.
So thanks again for the advice that you all presented.

Good choice on both camera and lens: I used to own both prior to moving to mirrorless (Olympus EM1X and EM1.3). I doubt you will be disappointed with your choices.

Excellent choices - great camera, great lens - congrats!
That is an excellent choice. (And I’m one of the ones that suggested the possibility of the A1.)

Add a battery grip and you will be in Heaven. I have your setup and I also have big hands. I think a camera should fit your hands like a good firearm. It doesn't matter what features a camera has if it's uncomfortable in your hands....before long you will begin to regret your purchase. You have Nikon's flagship DX DSLR that will make photos just as impressive as any mirrorless camera for decades to come.

Glad you went with the 500 and the 200-500 lens. Even though the lens is heavy it will give you more flexibility than the prime and still be a lot lighter. The 500 is the best crop wildlife camera out there. For the money this is the best setup you could have purchased. A lot of my friends have this setup and do real well with it. PURE VIDA!
That sounds good. Enjoy it!
Although not quite the same, there's a bit of tongue and cheek humor that relates to buying which goes, "The two happiest day in a boater's life is the day he bought it and the day he sold it."
Congratulations on your D500 purchase, Gary, great choice.
Congrats - ENJOY!
Might I suggest that you add a lens for working at normal distances and landscapes. The Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3G ED VR Lens or the Sigma 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3 DC Macro OS HSM is a good example for a DX camera. If you don't want one with such a wide zoom range, one in the 24-70mm range might be for you. There are different price ranges of these. Make sure you get an F mount.
I have a D810 but reach for my D500 99% of the time - great camera
