This has been ongoing in a number of states for several months. The intention is apparently to get wild birds to "social distance." Because birds don't normally flock together in the wild. And to avoid the Attic I will not assert that in 2021 social distancing is for the birds. No, I won't assert it. Nope.
Our cats would object if we removed the feeder! 😾 (Not that they actually _catch_ any!) 🐧

Most of the counties in Indiana have been given the go-ahead to begin restocking feeders now.
The latest is that it was related to the Cicadas, the pattern of the problem followed exactly when and where they emerged and has similarly faded. No dieases found.
