Masks do work-they aren’t foolproof but they have been very helpful in reducing the spread of the disease. Vaccines work very well—there are break through infections, but it is a relatively small number, and if you are subject to a break through infection you are much less likely to have a severe case, be hospitalized or die than if you were not vaccinated. The overwhelming majority of those who are currently being hospitalized and those who die are unvaccinated. Yes, who are the foolish ones?

I am usually good for at least two colds a winter because of my compromised
immune system so for the last two winters I have been wearing a mask
and sanitizing my hands when I go shopping and I have yet to catch a cold.
If things ever get back to normal I will continue to wear a mask.
