Unable to Open Photoshop

Today I took some photos, ran them through Lightroom, and tried to print them. Whenever I would try to open a file in Bridge to use in Photoshop CC2021, Photoshop would crash.

I tried the same thing in CS5 and CS6 and the same thing happened. I'm running a PC on Windows 10. I also tried restarting my computer and it didn't make any difference. Any ideas what to do?

The Error Report said "Sorry, an error occurred" Adobe Photoshop has encountered a problem and needs to close. Sent them an error report, probably will have to follow up with a phone call when I get time to.

Whenever I want to go from LR to PS Just click on the photo and the menu pops up and select; edit in photoshop.

I was having the same problem a few moments ago. Couldn’t go from LR to ‘Edit In’ Photoshop. Nor could I get out of LR and open PS alone. Windows 10. Did a ‘restart’ still nothing. Fully powered down, the powered on a few minutes later, and PS worked OK

A phone call to Adobe support would probably do more good than asking here. They can go into your computer and see what's wrong.

Windows 10

Turn off PC by holding down the power-off button for 30 seconds.

Do not release for those 30 seconds.

Turn it back on and see if the problem clears.

Well, part of my problem is fixed. After spending two days and about three hours on the phone with Adobe we weren't still having much luck. He kept thinking the problem was with Microsoft and that I should update to 21H1. I tried to update and kept getting that Microsoft was up to date.

Today, I had that guy that helps me with the PC and he was digging around through I don't know what and came across a problem with my upgrade to Nik on 7/31. Anyway, he uninstalled Nik and reinstalled it and I was able to get back into Photoshop CC. So next I reinstalled CS6 from my disk and it worked.

Now the bad part, I still cannot get CS5 (my favorite) to work. I've installed it 4 times and it just keep hanging up. I can open a file in Bridge and it opens in PS, but when I try to use the patch tool, it just leaves a black line until I try to make another correction. Also, none of my actions work and it just freezes up from there and I have to give it the 3 finger salute to get out of it.

Any Suggestions? The guy at Adobe said they no longer support it.

Why do you like CS5 better than CS6?

When CS6 came along I didn't care for the change in interface. I also print all my own work and like the print packages available in CS5.

Actually, I just now started using CS6 and I'm finding something still isn't right with it. When I click on a file in Bridge, it comes up "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?" and then it shows Adobe Photoshop CS5 below it. So I guess I'm not out of the woods yet...darn!
