Boy! Those CDC people will try anything to get more people vaccinated. New York's offering $100 to anyone choosing to get a shot. Tough call which one I'd go for if I wasn't already vaccinated.

The guy who gave me my shot didn't look anything like that.
Instead of paying people to get the shot, they should have begun the whole thing with attractive men and women giving the shots.

I don't like the idea of rewards for shots. Maybe when the next pandemic arrives, people will wait for the payments to be offered. It would have been nice if they had given retroactive payments to people who got the shots. The shots are free, and that was good enough for me.

Good point. I guess staying alive and helping prevent other people from dying isn't as good a motivator as a hundred bucks for some people. If I were really political and a firm believer in pure Darwinism, I'd be happy so many anti-vaccers are choosing "Death by Delta" over a "slight pinch." Trouble is, COVID Delta variant patients are taking medical resources away from other people in serious need of medical attention. A news article quoted a politician as saying someone refusing vaccination and contracting COVID should be denied access to any hospital supported by federal or state funds. Pretty harsh but there's a certain logic to it. Then again you could say the same for a long-time smoker seeking treatment for lung cancer.

$100? That's cheap. In Quebec, Canada, registration started for a lottery for those who are still on the fence. The top prize is $1,000,000 and there are many smaller prizes. It generated a lot of interest.
