Sorry but in the interviews with athletes the fact that there a few spectators is not a issue. When they are competing, it is all business. It seems to be an issue with those watching TV.

I think it's great for those watching TV as this year NHK is broadcasting the Olympics in 8K.

There are plenty of sports and wildlife cameras out there.
But only a few models will be used by professionals whose income depends on getting 'the' shot...consistently.
Yes, the Nikon D500 is not one of those models professionals go to for that mission...hobbyists...all day long.

I was not seeking to be any more serious than any of the other ridiculous responses in this discussion...

Racking my brain, trying to remember if you've EVER posted ANYTHING on ANY TOPIC that was not shilling for Canon?

Can anyone else recall one?

I don't think the snarky comments were due to the lack of interest in the post. I think the snarky comments were because many perceived that the OP was trying to put down users of non Canon and especially Sony. Whether it was the OP intention or not I think many felt that way.

I'm glad to see this...competition is a good thing.

To say this is nothing is as odd as saying it means everything.
And Tokyo, its 2021.

I actually bought one quite recently. It has one special feature that suits one specific need, and is otherwise a most excellent doorstop. We use very heavy closure springs on our doors here, due mainly to quite stiff weather stripping.

Nope…he is a firm believer that the hardware makes the image…when any actual photographer knows it is the 80/4 rule…80% of a good image comes from 4 inches behind the viewfinder. I guess he makes all those pithy comments on Canon gear and FF and mirrorless because he thinks they make him look smarter than the rest of us. Too bad…because his continuobashing makes a lot of people ignore him…which is a shame because he actually knows some things and could be a productive helpful forum member if he wanted to…except for the fact that he has turned a lot of people off.

Me too…then later on I moved to something that more completely met my needs at the time…I’ve used several brands over the years and it is me that makes the image, not the gear.

Well, I would certainly switch, except for the fact that I like to shoot incognito and those white lenses are hard to hide. And so I will sadly continue with my Nikon gear.

Athletics/sports in general has become so political that people just want a break from it all. Sad for the athletes that are simply wanting to be athletes. I have deliberately avoided watching and engaging in the events. It is now water under the bridge. I think that there are some great people who are striving to be the best. They just don't have the support and cheering that they deserve. The press and media has a huge responsibility for creating fairy tales and drama that is out of place and a turn off for me.
