Why don't you just take enough cards to cover your trip needs. Keep them in a protective holder and you can just download them to your computer when you get home. Always works for me.

Buy a WD portable memory drive. Have been using them for years. After I shot an sporting event
I would find a corner and download all my cards through my laptop onto the memory drive.
and a copy on my computer.

I have owned the hyperdrive unit and I can offer you two pieces of information
First, the hyperdrive unit itself is no longer made by the company and it is not offered for sale on their website. Now, I do not know if they still support the unit that is something you would have to research, contact them and ask him that information.
The second is, recently been made to units. One is umda2 and the other was umda3..
Be careful and make sure you do not buy the first because it will not support the most recent, and modern card formats.
I ran into that problem myself and you and will not support the cards I use in my Canon Mark IV or my Canon EOS R5.

I successfully connected the drive to my phone to verify that files were transferred to the hub.

I use a laptop and a external hard drive. I put my pictures on both for storage. I want two files, seperate, of all my pictures. I learned the hard way when I lost storage with out a back up.

I can put a Micro SD card directly into my Samsung phone. You can eject the sim card tray with a paper clip and that's where the memory card goes. If your SD cards are that type, maybe you can give that a shot instead of using an adaptor.
Personally I bring my Surface computer on vacation. I like being able to review the days shots on a large screen after backing up the files. I also bring an HDMI cable to hook to the big screens in the hotel to watch a slideshow (as well as streaming stuff). Uploading to the cloud while on the road would be way too time consuming for me as I use a 5Ds 50 MP and also shoot a lot of video with my Rp.
