I usually hand-hold the camera to make my two images but this shot presented a movement problem - the water wheel was turning. So I set the camera up in the left eye position and made 10 shots. Then I set up in the right eye position and made 10 shots. I know it was a long shot but I was hoping to choose from them a pair that had the water wheel in the same position. Alas, it didn't work. So I made a cutout of the wheel from the right picture and put it on a transparent layer just above the left eye position. The small width of the waterwheel in relation to the distance from the camera to subject made the change in perspective undetectable.
The subject was pictured in a scene that showed during the opening credits of the movie Gone With The Wind.

Interesting on so many fronts. Thanks for the view and the little bit of history.
