Yes Larry we one that put a scorch mark down the tree and blew three rocks the size of softballs out of the ground, fried the car computer parked near it and blew out two of four TVs in the house. The other looked mor like yours. It scorched the tree to about 8 feet off the ground, superheated the water in the tree and blew a hole through it. The trunk was expanded to about twice its size and you could put your arm all the way through it.

Sure looks like it, but it is an optical illusion of the textural levels of the rotted and decaying wood. I looked at the area in closeup amplification of the original photo.
