Hi everyone. Just a word, both my wife and myself are volunteers at the J P Getty Museum. That being said, we were there this morning (Friday 21st, ) and saw the Space Shuttle do a flyover of the Getty Museum. There must have been almost 2000 people at the Getty standing on almost every balcony at the museum, myself included, but i was working......haha. Here are but 3 of the 120 shots i took of the shuttle.
Thanks for the great pics. Saw the mated pair leave Kennedy as it took off for California.

I was lucky to watch every shuttle launch except two and you never get fed up with seeing those awesome beasts lift off. The ground literally shakes fro miles around. Am so sad that we gave up the shuttle program to rely on the Russian launches. Incidently I worked at the Russian launch center in 1964 and it was very primative.

I feel the same way about our space program also. We should never have ended it. Build new sleeker space shuttles, etc, but dont stop the program.........

I agree 100th%. It is sad that they are cutting back so much on the space programs. Great shots and thanks for sharing them.

Great captures! The Shuttle Program was a source of pride for us at Rockwell even if we weren't directly involved.
