After my double cataract surgery, the first thing I noticed was that the yellowish cast had disappeared from my eyesight, and I had gained about 1 1/2 stops of brightness.. My distance vision is now 20-20, but I do need mild (2-2.5) readers for my camera information and my car's dashboard, computers, etc. I think you will be pleased!

I'm reporting back: Yesterday I had my second cataract surgery....the one to correct my other eye. I had my first surgery 2 weeks ago. I'm happy to report that my vision is very good in both eyes. I am super happy with the results. I still have about 27 days of drops to go in my second surgery eye. In about 6 weeks I am scheduled to go in for an eye exam to get corrective lenses (bifocals). I expect very little correction for distance viewing and the necessary correction for my bottom/bifocal lenses for reading. I'm going to get separate glasses for my computer 27" monitor usage. For most of my life I've been wearing glasses for distance viewing. Those glasses were bifocals so I could also see close up.

I am most happy to report that I can use my DSLR viewfinder with no problems, including reading the small letters/numbers at the bottom of the viewfinder.

I hope this post helps to assure anyone that has my previous doubts that, you will probably be able to use your camera viewfinder just fine after your cataract surgery.
