I call 5/3 bank, "3/5 bank" (3 fifths of a bank). I used to bank there. I had checking & savings for each of my 2 businesses, plus an escrow account, and personal checking and savings... a total of 7 accounts with them. They screwed me on 1 of my accounts, so I closed ALL of them and went with a credit union.
I get these too. Another safety trick, is to right-hand click on the sender's name and see what their address is. If it doesn't include the bank's name and it's not a .com, that's another clue it's phony. Best advice though, is simply go directly to the bank from your computer and check your account.

I only use MY KNOWN bookmarks, even when an email states that my statement is ready.

"GETTING to the point?!?!" My Dad used to say "Believe none of what you hear and only half of what you see"
as a computer tech . I never respond to emails or pop ups like this and tell my customers not to either . Tommy

If they send out enough emails, they'll eventually hit someone who uses that bank.
Yep, I typically forward the email with the complete header included to the fraud and abuse address at both the bank and the ISP that is hosting the sender’s account.

For any such message like this, the best move is to not reply to any connection from the email. Instead, contact the actual business or bank along verified channels.
Absolutely right! Never follow a link in such an email.
I hover over the links and if they look like they go directly to the business, I just ignore the message. If they do not, I forward the message to the business' "stop fraud/spoofing/scams/phishing/etc" site. If the spoofed business does not have such a site, I report it to my ISP.

I get many a month from PayPal, all fake! Even after I mark as spam they keep coming, so they must be from different sources.
I get them from PayPal even though I have closed out al PayPal accounts. As for credit card scams, those are mostly by telephone and I just hang u on them.

Yes I received one of those also. But, I have no dealings with 5/3rd. I had to laugh.
Got one from PayPal a few days ago about my order that I never made.

It is a dumb name for a bank, isn’t it, but it’s a real bank with 1200 locations in the US alone and offices in Canada, and Europe including the UK (
