I spent almost all of my time on the UHH in this forum.
I rarely visited the film section and the classified section.
I would never visit the travel or gallery sections.

Linda, photography is a many faceted subject. I admit to being envious of those who are genuinely interested in them all. However I do feel that for any specific aspect of photography that people show an interest in, if a "group leader" can be found who is willing to "ride herd on that section", the rest of us can appreciate their commitment without necessarily feeling compelled to frequent a section/sections in which we personally have no interest.
I am not a birder, but I am especially happy that those with that interest have a spot here on the net where they can share that interest with other like-minded souls.
Still Life photography only very rarely "grabs me", but when such a shot does, it pulls strongly on my heart strings. Chances are that I will not frequent a section giving instruction on that subject. But for those rare and magical times when a particular Still Life image moves me, I hope that interested folks can find a spot where they can learn how to stage beautiful subjects in that field.
Similarly I have noticed a large and growing portion of our community who seem to fancy travel and the images that can be created in doing so. I do think that Hip Coyote's idea would gain traction with the members if a good leader might be found. OTHERWISE, the Main Discussion Section should be open to our members finding help with their travel plans.

Most of the specialized sections have very little traffic compared to main discussion and Gallery. The reason I mentioned participating with comments and topics is because people who are used to receiving a lot of comments in Gallery tend to wander away from a specialty forum after they experience less attention. Landscape Forum - which had huge interest and support when created in December 2018 - has just six topics for June, so far. But you'll find a ton of landscapes in Photo Gallery. It takes more than "well run" to be successful because of the way UHH is set up and the habits of its members.
