brown recluse. picked up a cardboard box and there it was,just inches from my hand.lucky for me these arent very aggressive.

Great shots, I hope your final move was to step on it. I like spiders, even Black Widows but Brown Recluses are a little too dangerous to have around the house.

yep,i dont take chances with recluses or widows

Great find and series of documenting it. I found a large one crawling on the wall last night which is now in a pill bottle patiently waiting its turn in front of the camera.

I really like #3. Just use something to move it to a safe location. Don't indiscriminately step on it.

Bitten by one when I was about ten years old. Was bedfast for several weeks. Missed so much school that I was held back a year. Taken to a doctor every few days where he would lance my arm and drain the blackened blood. I will tell you it was no fun and I was lucky to survive. Am now 93 yrs old.

I certainly hope that their treatment for a recluse bite has improved since then
