No i was replying to the poster who said she didn't know what kind of hawk she shot, I'm new here so don't have it all down well yet. Good capture on your Nighthawk, they are sooo tough when they are moving.

Robins are very skittish. How did you get that shot?
I hope you had another door to get in the shop.

I just happen to have some Canadiens also, with a Heron thrown in.

I use an Oly D390 at the shop for Power Point photos because the size of the picture is just right. Having a sharp edge to edge photo from a P&S is a always game winner. It sounds like a good topic to start. Pro full / half frame or point&shoot. Second thought... It might turn into the OK coral.

What kind of an old bird is that?

It is known as a Navion and has gone through several designations over the years, two of them are U18 and L17 (as a civilian model it's just a Navion.)
They were used from the Korean War through 2005 with different branches. McArther had one for his own transport.
They are carrier qualified and are very robust. We used this one for SAR, counter drug, recon, and disaster relief.

Being active in a couple other forums I saw how some "quote replys" were a quarter page long. I think that is a bit much and burns too much space without a photo. I see how it is very usefull and withdraw my origional request not to quote reply. I think we should hold it within reason though.

Quail on my back fence

ooohhh, my favorite bird! Our eastern bob-white quail are on the decline since farmers stopped growing grain and started raising cattle. Cattle take a different kind of grass which is too tanglely and thick for the little ones to get through. I hear one or two a summer when I used to hear many. so sad
