Transfering

Well, it's 4 months until my trip but I'm transferring and updating files and programs from my desktop to my new Vaio laptop which I'll carry with me on the trip to Vietnam. I guess my main idea is to have the laptop as a viable backup for my desktop which is about 5 years old now.

Just my current folder of pictures is 25 gig and it's copying to my flash drive as we type here. That's 25 gig on the desktop, 25gig on the external drive and now 25 gig on the USB Flash drive which will be on the laptop soon. I have a Free Agent GoFlex I terabyte I could transfer them to also. Overkill ? I don't think so if you loose them.

Sarge, are you going on a vacation or are you working? :hunf:

Just go and enjoy the trip! 8-) :-P

If your schedule permits, please take some photos of the DaNang (AFB) area. I flew in and out of there on operational missions many, many times.

Just go and enjoy the trip! 8-) :-P

Trying for several years to take a return trip to Vietnam. Family and medical issues have interfered. Wife and I are spending 5 weeks in Australia, Tasmania and New Zealand for 2013. So VN is first at bat for 2014. Was in VN 1968 and 1969, all expenses paid. This time I have to pay my own way. In 1990 I married a wonderful lady from Vietnam so this trip will be special.

Best of luck on you trip and look forward to seeing some photographs.

She was a 1975 Boat Person. Survived Communist reeducation camp. By the time I meet her she had learned English and EARNED her US citizenship. A mutual friend introduced us. For me it was love at first sight. We have been married for 21 years and are unbreakable.
