I've always wanted a bird like that!

I got the hots for a T-Bird when I was much younger but couldn't get together the "scratch". Oh well. Thanks Elliot for weighing in. vz

The “Thunderbird” marque was carried by many different kinds of automobiles - it seemed Ford couldn’t figure out what they wanted a Thunderbird to be. The Mustang went through a few iterations in the same way. GM, on the other hand, knew what the Corvette was to be from the beginning and it stayed true to form.

Yep, they came out with the 2 seater in 58.

I think the first T-Bird was in 1955 and was a two-seater through the 1957 model year. In 1958 Ford messed up and made it a four seat vehicle. I suspect this is what your comment really was.

The classic, two-seater '57 T-bird sports car with the hard-top convertible was drastically (some would say "catastrophically") changed the next year into a luxury sled which it remained. Anyone know the thinking behind that one? Who needs more luxury than the '58 Edsel?

Yes, that is a Thunderbird. It reminds me of the 1965 T-bird my then girlfriend's parents owned and allowed me to drive when I took her to the prom in 1966. That was a wonderful night, I had the opportunity to drive a nearly brand new car and was with my best girl (at that time).
