Stupid Bear

A bear ripped open a plastic storage container where I keep gallon jugs of oil drained from cars. He must have been disappointed when he found no oil. I had brought it to be recycled a few days before. I'm sorry he broke the container, but I'm glad he didn't attack the garbage cans.

bears are not known for their judgement (or their table manners)

Everyone knows bears drive electric cars and have no use for oil.

Jerry, I had a similar experience when I left a 5 gallon plastic container of diesel fuel in the woods. I used it to help start brush piles on fire. That darn bear tore the container apart. I was amazed it could puncture the real thick plastic around the handle.
The Fish and Wildlife people believed I had something tasty on my hands when I handled the container earlier.

Is this one of your "takes some thought" jokes? As with some of your other jokes I don't get it.

No. This was the case of a bear breaking into a large plastic storage bin to get at drain oil containers. Maybe I'll take a picture of it later. That container was good for bringing the gallon jugs to recycle the oil. Now I'll have to order something large from Amazon to get a big cardboard box. : )

Yes, the bears are active now. There are daily notices about adults and their kids. I've also been hearing about rattlesnakes. I didn't know they were local residents.

There was quite a bit because every time I had gone to recycle it, their 275 gallon tank was full. I probably had ten gallons of oil. Some of those gallons contained old antifreeze.
