changed lens on boat

ok, i read on here at some time back that you should never change lens on a boat. It could get salt or whatever else inside the camera and you may not know till years later. now I am so worried i may have ruined my camera. i changed the lens many times while out on a day cruise in alaska. is there anything i can do now to reverse the damage i MAY have caused?

Unless the boat was 'at speed' and throwing up spray, you are probably very safe. I used my 19foot boat on the ocean with me being only 3 feet from the water. The Nikon never messed up yet had spray on it at times. Even changed from normal to telephoto lens on it while out there.

I frequently go out on a 75 ft yacht and am always changing lenses outside. No problems yet.

I play in the deserts all the time 4 wheeling/exploring and experience the same concerns with dust.I always 'think' first about what if a gust or whatever surprises me.I always get the camera mounted first and then put caps back on the other lense as it doesn't have a sensor to worry about. But I make these switches all within seconds as I have everything ready before I start.

Don't believe everything you read on the internet. In fact, there is often times erroneous information posted on this board and others quite often from people who should know better.
As an earlier poster stated, unless you had spray, you should be fine.
Cameras are NOT sealed entities FYI. Lenses are not sealed either although some higher end stuff does have rudimentary protection.
