As for unsolicited advice- it doesn't go over very well on this forum but oftentimes many important things can be learned. It depends on where or whom it is coming from.
There's a difference between a suggestion/advice and being told/directed to do something.
ie.
"You might want to consider Brand Q widget, it has these merits..."
vs.
"You need to get Brand Y thing-a-ma-bob, it's the best.

That's a good one too.
It takes 3, one to hold the bulb, two to turn the ladder.

It takes 100...one the change the bulb and ninety nine to tell you how they would make it better.
That is why one should take advice with a grain of salt or ignore it altogether...especially if you didn't ask for it.
And it all started with Westinghouse VS Edison and then throw in Tesla.

Yea, AC is just so much more efficient to transmit, especially over long distances.
Through the air hasn't caught on yet.

And opinions of which light bulb should be used...
With a dissertation on why.
Should definitely use Philips, not GE. I hear GE is going out of business.
Only one but it takes five visits!
A lightbulb in a darkrooms? Aaaah, I knew I could wiggle this gem in. Ages ago my department only had windows in just part of the area so it was really dark when the lights were out. My boss at the time found these plug in emergency lights that automatically came on when the power went off (or unplugged if you needed a flashlight in a pinch). Anyway, he had the grand idea to put one in the darkrooms. We went round and round with a rather (ahem) lively discussion about it being a bad idea. It took way longer than it should have to convince him that if I was processing 4x5 racks it really wouldn't matter if the power was out (other than I'd be using my watch and internal clock) but it would matter if the light came on mid process to tell me the power was out. I finally won. Oh yeah, this was after the time he wanted engineering to paint the darkroom walls black because they were an off white. His answer was so it would be darker. I took him in, shut the door and turned off the lights and asked him did he think the walls would be any darker than this? That was one of my easier battles. Fun times..
I don't change the lightbulb I just use a longer exposure
Just one to hold the bulb while the world rotates around him.
