Phew! I really pulled your chain, didn't I!

No, actually, Thanks for giving me the opportunity to list the positive qualities about the man, Donald Trump. I will add another. It takes a special person to stand up and take all the abuse in the form of the hate, mudslinging, and outright lies from big important people in the environment. And to carry on successfully to accomplish what he has as President.

I couldn't do it for a minute. You couldn't do it in your dreams.

I'm with Liz on this one. I voted for the man twice because I believed the first time he was better than the alternative and the second time because I was afraid to give the left total control of the government…but in both cases he was the least objectionable choice.

I've always thought that in every election the choice "none of the above" should be on the ballot and if None wins then there's a new election and none of the original people can run in it.

That said…the truth is that he lost and President Biden won…and despite the claims of either side there has been no significant proved voter fraud.

I keep reading about the insurrection on Jan 6 and if we're going to define that as an insurrection then we need to define Portland/Seattle/et. al. as insurrections as well. Yes…some people invaded the capital but the majority of the people in DC that day did not do so and remained peaceful…similarly the majority of the people in Portland were peaceful but there were lawbreakers there as well.

All that said…it is time for the Republican Party to move on from the former President…he is yesterday's news and they need. to get back to what Republicans stand for. Unfortunately…like largely in the other party…the fringes have taken over and in order to win the nomination you have to run on the fringes but mostly those people have trouble winning statewide or national races…even through the fringes compose a minority of the voting public…there's almost no party left for those of us mostly in the middle.

You bring up some good points but your last paragraph needs some filtering. If you were to review most of the posts were Trump's name brought up, they are initiated by the left who can't seem to get them out of their minds. This is referred to as severe TDS. I believe that most conservatives and others in the middle clearly understand and accept that Trump is old news but they will defend him whenever a left wing nut makes a false claim about him. When that happens the grenades begin to be tossed and you end up with finger pointing.
