gorgeous shots of your beautiful finch, timothy. i have a hard time telling the difference between the
purple finch and male house finch. lucky you to see him up in that pretty flowering tree!

Very nice pictures. Actually, I think it may be a House Finch. It's hard to tell without seeing it back and wings. Whatever, it very pretty.

Thanx for viewing. Could be. The red almost crimson top knot leads me to think it it a Purple. The bird was about 15 feet away and about 15 feet up. Did not get any useable even for ID shots of the wings.
