For sale: Canon EF 600mm f/4L IS III. $12,000 OBO.

The eagle nest that I had access to was destroyed during strong wind and I no longer have a need for this camera.

Like new condition. Also included are the original box and case. Purchased Sept. 2019.

I am in northeast Alabama. In person / cash only. We will meet at the local police department to exchange cash/lens.

Private message me if you are interested. Thanks.

I would be also if I were purchasing a lens. If interested party wants to PM me then we can talk by phone, text or whatever. I will meet at the local police department to protect both of us.

LOL. It is a beast.

I'm female and used it on a tripod mostly. I could do a few shots hand held but for me it certainly is not a walk around lens.

I'm still curious as to why you call it a camera, and why would you buy a $12,000 lens just for one subject? Why not rent one?

It's an amazing lens and I used it for all wildlife after I retired. I did rent an earlier version a year or so before I purchased this one and fell in love with it. They are very expensive to rent so that is not a long term option.

That cleared up my question. I thought you only used it for the eagle.

I am smitten with eagles and that was my reason for getting into photography in the first place. I am blessed to have a nest near me and others in the area.

I was taken aback by two immediate posts questioning my validity. I expect any interested buyer to be as cautious as I am. I'll only meet under circumstances where we both feel safe such as a police department.

I can sell it on eBay but that is expensive so I thought I would post it a few places first.

Sadly, there's a few people who think it's their job to police the for-sale section. For 'where to sell' ideas, consider Birds As Art at https://www.birdsasart.com/ where there's serious bird photographers and serious people shopping for high-end used equipment. I bought my 300 f/2.8L II there a few years ago. Check Artie's T&Cs or contact him directly for pricing ideas. Personally, I realized the 500L is the biggest I want to handle, even though your post tickled my nerve that responds to a lens like this.

Hey, for those who fish for a hobby, it's cheaper than a bass boat!
