Not knowing the age of your car, there could be a code that needs to be entered to get the radio to function this was an anti theft code so that if someone stole your radio with out the code the radio was useless .

That’s really interesting. Two car battery dealers I use always use tenders. I asked about this and they explained that failure to do so can lead to incredibly expensive problems and them having to pay out for the inherent damage failure to use a tender can cause.

It is.
Cars now...

Lots of advice here but I don’t think people are taking the witch angle seriously enough🥴

Yes, I noticed that. Just as well. I'm not about to move or tear the house down.

Wow Jerry - that's some string of bad luck, and the history of the house is unreal. So when are you posting the for sale sign?

Double double toil and trouble.
Fire burn and cauldron bubble.

Obviously it's the witches revenge.

This morning, my speakers don't work, the printer doesn't want to print, and my car radio is dead - after replacing the car's battery yesterday. It's getting power because the display for the rear and side cameras works. Everything else in the car works.

You might have noticed that I seem to have more than my share of electric/electronic problems. Still, I refuse to believe they have anything to do with what my neighbors have been telling me. This piece of land was the site for the trial and hanging of many witches years ago. They were supposedly buried on the property. The hanging trees were cut down, milled into lumber, and used to build this house. Even if I did believe those stories, I find it doubtful that they have anything to do with my electrical problems. Right?

What about all the other problems?

My mechanic has a cable that he plugs into the OBD II port and to a 12 volt battery before he disconnects the old battery so as to maintain all the onboard memory units. Once the new battery is installed he disconnects the OBD II plug.

If they were witches, they probably deserved it. Right?

I once had a Ford where the light for the radio dial was on a different fuse than the rest of the radio - but on the same fuse as the electric windows. We had a problem with one of the windows, and whenever someone forgot and tried to use it, the fuse would blow. When that happened, the radio would play, but not hold its station. We could listen to anything on the air, in ten-second slices.

Today everything is computer driven. All a hostile power has to do is release an ELP over the east coast. In one strike the north east is suddenly in the 1800's. Nothing will work--nothing. Millions would starve to death.

Yep, an EMP blast would likely kill most devices with semiconductors/ICs within range, but old cars and tractors with coil/condenser/point type ignition, vacuum tube radios (yes, I still have one), non-inverter generators, Incandescent lights and fluorescents with non electronic ballast, appliances without computer control, etc. would still work. The BIG problem is that the only way to produce a really powerful EMP is a nuclear blast, so we’d have a lot of more serious problems to deal with. There are non nuclear EMP weapons, but their power (1/millionth that of a nuclear blast) limits their range to short distances. For a real world example, a lightning strike produces an EMP.

Every time I put up a "For Sale" sign, it sinks into the lawn, making a creepy groaning sound.

I was only kidding about the history of the property. The house was built in 1963.

The speaker now work after I unplugged and reconnected the cable of the USB extension cord. The printer started working again. My car radio is now entertaining me, and I rewired all the connections on the TV, so I don't get pauses while watching a movie. Life is good again!
