Wrapped up spring photography at NCSU yesterday with a volleyball match. State played well and swept Boston College 3-0. Was fortunate to get credentials to shoot, but relegated to the stands. Made it a bit more challenging, but at least I was able to get in!
Got a few images but in all honesty the masks really take away from the images. They're entirely different when you can't see the face.

These are really nice shots, especially from the stands. GO State. My dad was from North Carolina. Post more when you can. Thanks. BE SAFE.

These are great. Really nice shots.
While I agree that the masks take away much of the emotion, it does focus it on the eyes.
From a player’s perspective, I know from our own teams they are just grateful to be able to play, and the families appreciate pictures of their atheletes, masks or not.
Just keep shooting....just keep shooting....

Thank you, Tom. I am going to try to see if I can get on site for a softball game or two, but I am not very hopeful. If you want to see more of my NCSU shots, follow this link:

Nice shooting there. Girls vb is on the verge of becoming my favorite sport.
Nice work - especially from the stands. Keep it up, more sporting events
are right around the corner.
Thank you. My collegiate spring sports are done for me. Next up, shooting a minor league basketball team in Raleigh. First games April 9-10. I get floor access to those and looking forward to it!
Wonderful series rcorne001... and such lovely ladies!
Epic pivotal moments... You've showcased the charismatic aura of this incredibly fast paced sport...
"...the masks really take away from the images..." rcorne001 years from now your stellar reportage of this event will become priceless and endearing... A testimony from an era that only a precious few where able to document and as such illustrates what went down during these challenging times... like scenes from the Spanish Flu pandemic of 1918 these will become a hallmark of the endurance and fortitude of what future generations may indeed struggle to comprehend...
btw, I found shooting with a protective mask to be a major challenge... Kudos to your perseverance and expertise... You're certainly far better at this then I ever could be...
All the best on your wonderful photographic journey rcorne001...
Please stay safe until those in the CDC believe we all are out of harms way...
Thank you for the very kind words, Thomas. That encouragement means a lot.
