Nice shot.

(Mink are long and slender (like weasels, otters, and ferrets), I think with a furry tail, muskrats are shorter and chubbier, with a rat-like tail.)

Haha - I don't know if they are either. I did not find a range map for them.
Just look at the body style and tail.

Looks like somebody pulled the canine teeth??? Naturally absent in Muskrat, with 2 incisors top and bottom. Very rough fur for Mink, usually sleek when wet for Mink.

That is a mink. Great capture. The tight, beady eyes, sharp snout and pink nose are a give away.
