This is my Grand Father's old wooden salad bowl and his Chopper. I watched him chop many veggies! I still use both, tho even the bowl has a crack.

That is a beautiful still life. Could you carefully epoxy the crack to prevent it from getting worse?

Something to keep in the family for sure... Find someone in your community that is good with wood and perhaps it can be saved from splitting further... Many times a very small hole drilled at the crack will stop any further splitting... Good Luck... oh and very nice shot by the way...

It could probably be glued with an animal based glue that is non-toxic to other animals.

Try the Japanese art form of Kintsugi, filling in the crack with Gold! That piece would look amazing!
