How open is southern California for visiting after being vaccinated for the C-19 virus

I am hoping to visit my old stomping grounds in Huntington Beach, El Porto and Santa Monica, CA.
I am going to wait for a month after I get my second dose before thinking about making the trip. It should be sometime in early May.
How are the people to people restrictions right now for hotels and restaurants?

When I look on the internet for places to stay no-one says anything about restrictions!
It makes me think it's business as usual for that area.

What do some of the locals see for restrictions right now?

Use common sense --
Our thoughts:
The "key" here is your 2nd shot & even with that when appropriate wear a mask & practice social distance
We get our 2nd the 25th of this month -- we will then take our 1st visit to a restaurant without walking away with "take-out" since March 2020 -- They are now talking about opening amusement & baseball parks on a limited basis in April.

Masks and distancing will probably be with us for a while, since they haven't determined whether vaccinated people can spend the virus. As of now, most of California still has restrictions on things like indoor dining, but by May things should be better. Here is some information for visitors:

Thanks for the info.
Ahh, you are in front of me as our second shot is on the 26th but we are in southern Oregon and are getting it from Albertsons.
Hope the second is easy for you.

Taking the second shot changes your thinking but remember, it takes 2 weeks after the shot before you get the protection it provides. Don't celebrate on the way home from getting the shot!

And remember, that 95% protection doesn’t mean you can’t get the disease, it means that only 5% of those that acquire it become seriously ill enough to be require hospitalization. You can still acquire the virus, the vaccine just allows your immune system to recognize it and respond more quickly, hopefully mitigating the illness. Even so, ~5% (Pfizer or Moderna vaccine) will become ill enough to require hospitalization.

As an aside. Until they change the rules, Don't waste time planning any trips to Canada. Had considered going to see Aurora so checked, need testing before and after arrival, paperwork, 2 weeks quarantine on arrival. Fines and jail for breaking rules, up to $1,000,000 if someone is injured because of you.

🤗 I’d give it a couple of weeks to max the protection, but I’m completely with you - going out to eat Friday (outdoors) for the first time since last April, and yes, a “bloody” sounds like a great idea!

An attempt at sarcastic humor I hope! Surely you can’t be serious?

The lack of HeadRoom is a serious issue

You are right! Every time I think of an old workmate who still lives in Point Roberts I feel sorry for him all over again.
