Sony A7C

I am thinking about buying my first full frame camera and am interested in the new Sony A7C because of its compactness. I have read many reviews of this camera and the results seem to be quite mixed. Can anyone shed some light on whether this camera is a real improvement over smaller sensor cameras like the Sony RX100 VII and is it worth the price? I was thinking of using it mainly for low light indoor photography.

I own and use an A7c. I believe that this camera is an improvement over an APSc camera, so since the RX100 has a smaller sensor than an APSc camera, I would expect that you will find it worth the price.
With a mirrorless camera, you will also find that with the addition of an appropriate adapter, you will not be restricted to using E-mount lenses.
In terms of handling, it is only slightly larger than the A6000 series, and I find it a pleasure to use, although I have only had it since mid-November.
The attached image was taken at ISO 3200.
This is pretty much straight out of the camera - it could be improved in post.
You can enlarge it to see the low noise level. Handheld with the kit 28-70mm lens.

The benefit you will receive versus the 1" sensor are several. First, you will be able to crop more of the photo due to more pixels. Secondly, and more importantly, you will be able to shoot at a lower ISO, which will make for cleaner photos. Then, the dynamic range will be improved, adding a lot of the "wow" to your images. I have the A7lll, which is basically the same product in a larger package. You will love the A7C.

It's great. The focus tracking is amazing. Will have less noise and better dynamic range at higher iso's than the Rx100, but the resolution is the same so cropping is the same. I am surprised, but the smaller viewfinder and the missing dial (has one instead of two), compared to the A7's, doesn't bother me. The 28-60 lens is sharp and focuses fairly close. Recently, just for kicks, went to Butterfly World with the A7C and the kit lens, instead of my macro lens, and I was shocked how good the photos came out.

I was thinking of getting a mirrorless camera for a little bit, but I didn't want to get an adapter for my lenses or buy all new lenses, so personally I bought a used a99ii FF to complement my a77 APS-C. Eventually I'll have to go compact, but I like the feel of the bigger body in my hands.
