Just a few more shots from Haverigg beach.Two of what i think are Brewers black birds and one of a Speckled Gull,i do stand to be corrected ,i have searched for the IDs and these are the nearest i can get to them
Cheers old malky,i checked on line and as i said the one i saw was a brewers blackbird wich was similar to my photo,i'm not a bird man and can be easily fooled but i would like to thank you for your input it was really appreciated.:thumbup: :thumbup:

Speckeld gull is a no no, why dident I spot that before(probable cos of the pain in my wrist) best to go with imature herring gull,the book says best to grill wrapped in tinfoil with an onion and two bay leaves.

Great shots, I know the area well having lived in west cumbria most of my life. The RSPB site nearby has some fabulous winter visitors. Last time I was there saw a flock of at least 400 redshanks and many other waders too many to mention including some eider ducks. Its a great winter birding spot. Once again great pics.

Cheers malcy and thanks for looking,the beach on Friday was alive with birds,thousands of them.I was on the beach but could,nt get close enough before the birds got scared and flew off.I did'nt know there was an RSPB site nearby,so the next time i visit my daughter who lives in The Green near Millom i'll give it a visit. :thumbup: :thumbup:
