I was looking through some of the images on my iPad, and came across this shot. It was taken in Scotland in August, 2013. We were staying at a B&B near the Cairngorms, and had taken the tram to the top. We had joined a ranger for a guided walk - the only way we were permitted to continue on the trail. As we neared the top, I noticed a couple just gazing off in the distance. I really liked the mood the mist added to this shot. It may not be the most technically correct, but it is one of my favorites from this leg of our several week long adventure. It was taken with the 55-300 kit lens mounted on my first DSLR - my trusty, much loved Nikon D5200.
Keep in mind that I DO NOT DO LANDSCAPES!
Vertical Crop
Another crop - cropped out some of the foreground
Another version - very close to how the scene appeared from my position
I like the third the most.

I think that's my favorite, also. It just conveys a feeling of endless space and possibilities. Thanks for looking and commenting.
Nice set I'll go with the mood of No 2

Thanks for looking and commenting. I was plying around with different crops to see how "the mood" might change. IMO, there is no "wrong" preference here.

Thanks, Karin. That one is my favorite, also.
Great set exploring different crops and I would go for #3 also. Great mood and memory photos as well a beautiful landscape, Mike.

Thanks for looking and commenting, John. It was a great trip. Hope we can get back to our travels sooner rather than later. I'm not getting any younger or spryer (if that's even a word!).

What do you mean you don't do landscapes? I just saw a couple nice ones!
Very nicely done, Mike. I am also a fan of the third image, my favorite composition.
