The following pictures were taken at Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center in Port Aransas, Texas. It is interesting to me that Stilts are usually found in the company of Avocets, and in the fifth picture Avocets can be seen in the background. However the fifth image is presented because of the mud on the Stilt's foot. The third image illustrates what appears to be unusual balance due to the forward bending knees.

Lovely images. It brings back memeories.
I have an imaginary image in my head from 40 years ago that I had planned for a carving pc of an Avocation. I never carved it because I lacked the reference material back then but the birds still hold a specmemories.

I'm glad you pointed the shadow out. I don't think I noticed it.
