I disagree with you on your conclusion. It isn't hanging on to a hatred of Hillary as you evidently assume. It's an acknowledgement to those of you who think otherwise, that many of we conservatives saw her as a danger to the country and we voted accordingly. Reminding you of this has nothing to do with supporting or following Trump. I find your "following a pied piper" suggestion as equally relevant for those of you who followed Obama and his false tune.

Thank you for a non-flammable response. I agree with you that many people were sincere in their hope that Trump would drain the swamp. In fact, I truly hoped he would be successful at the beginning of his presidency for his success would be our success. I quickly soured on him because of his ego-centric decisions and self-serving nature. I hate to admit it but I think the country is in decline and the rate of decline has accelerated. All great societies eventually crumble beneath the bloat and greed of its leadership - Rome, Spain, England are just our predecessors. I would LOVE to be wrong but I think it's getting worse.

I'm more of a glass half full sort of person than glass half empty. I try to look at how the good outweighs the bad. That allowed me to put aside Trump's failings such as his narcissistic behavior, locker room language, and over reaching demands for loyalty, to try to evaluate the things he accomplished. Overall I think he was successful and his record will reflect favorably on him once all the angst over his personality subsides. Yes, not all of his accomplishments were universally accepted, but he did follow through and succeeded on meeting many of his campaign promises.

I don’t seem to recall the check from Mexico being cashed for Dump’s wall.

Are you aware, Scooter, that Tariffs are paid by Americans. The Mexican industry exporting items from Mexico to hear do not pay any increase. It is ALL on us, the American consumer. This was a propaganda item that fooled many Americans. Do not be embarrassed for not knowing or understanding this. Millions didn’t. They were not informed by the Government or certain news media stations, channels, and websites.

Scooter: Please understand that WE Ameericans paid for any section of wall constructed. Some paid by Tariffs, some paid by taking monies appropriated for the military. This was why an emergency was declared, though there really was none, so that money could be taken from the military to build or repair existing sections of wall. Otherwise, only Congress can allocate how money is to be spent.

This also brings as to why a wall was needed. Simple and inexpensive tools bought in any box or hardware store go through the wall like a hot knife through butter. Would not drones, at incredibly lower cost, have patrolled better and “sent” notice of where breaches were occurring and where Border Patrol Agents should be sent?

What you seem to miss in your condescending reply is the fact that Our import tariffs are miniscule compared to tariffs from other countries importing american goods. There are way too many of YOU that seem to thing getting a paperclip from China for 1 cent is so much better than paying 2 cents for an american made paperclip. Is this simple enough for you? Now try to imagine yourself owning a company that can't compete with China. If you export your 2 cent paperclip to c
China you get hit with a 200% tariff but if China exports the same paperclip to america they pay a 20% tariff. Not sure about your mathmatical abilities but I'll give you the benefit and say you understand my meaning. If more AMERICANS supported our mom and pop companies instead of driving to walmart and buying china's shit our country would be SOOOO much better off. Your argument supports imports instead of supporting american businesses and families. We can't compete because our cost of living is higher. Tariff's that Trump increased support our at home businesses. BTW do you have friends that own a small business?

Scooter: My remarks were not all condescending. Yours appear to be. I had a small business. My parents, as well. I buy local and from small businesses, to very real efforts to deprive the big chains and stores.

I am unsure why you have deflected my remarks to matters that seem not at all related to what I wrote. I merely pointed what I believe were fallacies in your position. Tariffs are paid by us, not the company providing the goods. Yes, I buy American as often as possible. This is true even if it costs me more money. I do not frequent WalMart at all. Do you?
I think China is a bad actor in the business world. We lost the war that was launched a couple years back. I believe it was fought incorrectly. You may not. Again, we all paid the Farmers the subsidy to make up for their lost markets.
What did Mexico do that they should or ever would pay for such a wall. They did not and will not. A tilt at a windmill. I listened to you and digested what you said. I attempted to respond in a deferential manner. Though never intended to be condescending, I am regretful that you read it that way. I would hope that you and all of us would try a bit harder to not offend each other. Do you review your comments for offensive wording as you would have me and others do?
Let us all try harder.
I now have only 5% battery charge remaining so will be unable to again respond this evening. Please know I am sincere in feeling badly about your having taken offense to my writing.

Trump never claimed Mexico would send a check. I'll be bold here and suggest you think before you speak.

Are you saying that Trump never said Mexico would pay for the wall? I guess he never said it would be by check, but surely he promised Mexico would pay for the wall, didn’t he?
