Desert Bighorn Sheep. (wikipedia)
I was searching inside Canyonsland N.P. when I spotted this creature. I took some shots as I was under the assumption they are plenty full. In the evening on the way out I was going the Park Ranger going to show my new just came out Nikon 2DX. The Ranger was more amazed at the Big Horn Sheep. I had no idea they were so hard to find. The last image was used by the Parks Department in the yearly publication.

Nice catch! Right place at the right time has its benefits. 👍
Beautiful Ram. They are known to be in the canyon but are rarely seen. You were very lucky!
Very nice Mike! The last one is a great capture. I had an encounter with a herd of Bighorn’s a few years back and I was surprised how close you could get to them.
Great set and what a wonderful find.

Thank you very very much CPO, and I didn't know.
Beauties! A very long time ago at Yellowstone (Film days) a Ranger told me where I could find some Bighorn if I was willing to walk. After a couple of miles, sure enough, there they were! As I walked toward them every so often I snapped a couple of exposures. They never did run - when I was as close as I cared to be, 36 exposures were used up on the FTN and I had to switch to my ELW back up camera. Didn't get anything as good as yours.
