The Biden administration's early executive orders are hurting Americans, particularly lower income and the middle class, according to John Catsimatidis, a potential Democrat candidate for New York City mayor.

“It hurts America, not only to the "union jobs" that will be lost in canceling the Keystone XL Pipeline, but the unwinding of America's energy independence achieved under the Trump administration.”

"If they're saying it's not going to affect people with low wages – absolutely false," Catsimatidis added. "When people with low wages end up paying more for the gasoline, more for their food, it affects every American.

"Cancellation of the pipeline, you know who that helps? It helps Saudi Arabia and the OPEC nations," he said. "It's a win-win for them. It's a lose-lose-lose for the American people."

The rise in the cost of energy directly impacts the spending power and cost of living of Americans, particularly blue collar ones, he added. Um, not sure if you have been paying attention, but gas prices have been low for the last 5 or 6 yrs due to a Glut of oil both in the US and abroad. Because of this the price has come down and is stable for the most part.. Because of the pandemic even less oil is being used. It's to the point of no place to store all of the oil. The prices will remain low as long as Opec continues to pump oil out as they must to keep their economy going. They threaten to lower production but so far it's never held. As time goes on and less demand of oil is needed the lower the cost will become. They world is changing, new president in town recognizes global warming and will take the steps needed to lower emissions. Hundreds of thousands of new jobs will be created. Even GM has jumped on the band wagon... Fear tactics from the republicans only work if any truth to them. I have no fear of higher gas prices or loss of employment.
