PHOTOPAD PROCESSING SOFTWARE

I'm curious if anyone who reads this uses NCH's software "PHOTOPAD". I have started using it to some good purpose here, but don't know if it will be adequate in the long run as a replacement for Photoshop/Lightroom. I am very leery about getting into a time payment situation with PS/LR, whereas PhotoPad was a one time only relatively OK payment.
Thanks!
Yves

If you're interested in a very complete and powerful photo editing tool that you don't have to "rent", take a look at Affinity Photo. All their products are currently $24.95 USD (half price) with a 90 day extended trial period, to help creatives during the pandemic. https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/ https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/photo/

Highly recommended!

I use photopad and like it ok. It's not a light room but it's easy to do a few touch ups.
I'll keep it on my laptop.
You'll enjoy it.

Until your post, I had not heard of NCH. I googled the company and found interesting stuff to read.

"I am very leery about getting into a time payment situation with PS/LR" That is unfortunate. Before you had a digital camera, did you ever buy film? Did you incur processing costs?

I get so much joy and entertainment out of my photography and videography hobbies that my Adobe subscription is the last thing I would cut from my Social Security budget!

Still for many, $10 each month might be a problem. If it is, don't leave out what you get with your computer. Both Windows and iOS have good editing programs built in! Then there is Google Photos! If you haven't looked at it lately, it is quite good!

Super fine choice. Looks like it will have all the tools I eventually will need, beyond the basics. Downloaded it, now to learn!!! Much appreciated, thank you!

AFFINITY: That program really does it for me. Super recommendation, and very much appreciated! Not the easiest learning curve - but in the fullness of time!!!! LOL Many thanks! Great alternative to the "Time Payment Biggie" LOL
